About the Coding Nurse®

The Coding Nurse was founded by a Licensed Practical Nurse. The Coding Nurse possesses the following coding credentials, CDIP, CCS, CCS-P, CPMA, CPB, CRC, HCS-D, HCS-O, and is an AHIMA-Approved CDI & ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer. Although they enjoyed their time as a direct care nurse, working in several specialty areas, they were often called by their never-ending quest for success. This motivated them to seek opportunities to utilize their medical knowledge in new ways, which led them to the health information management industry. Their talent for auditing led them to work for many different types of payers, including commercial, Medicare/Medicaid, and Medicare Advantage providers.  Their desire to continue to help people has led them to their latest endeavor, The Coding Nurse, featuring medical coding education and consulting. They currently provide live, remote, small group medical coding training online and works with medical providers helping them improve their revenue management cycle by improving clinical documentation and the claims denial resolution process.
